Report on State Department Leadership Training Series

Growing Leadership LLC was engaged to provide leadership training for the Customer Service Managers (CSMs) of the Department of State, Consular Affairs Passport Office. The initial day-long training was held in New Orleans on Dec. 3, 2018, and three follow-up, one-hour webinars on topics selected by the CSMs were conducted in 2019. Training topics included Inspiring Meaning at Work, Leadership Essentials, Effective Workplace Communication, Using Work Time Most Effectively, Managing Expectations for Yourself and Others, Using Influence to Create a Positive Work Climate, Effective Delegation, and Self-Leadership and Promotion of Leadership in Others. Implementation included a pre-training questionnaire, case studies, and use of a personal leadership development worksheet. Feedback included: “I found the workshop interesting and inspiring, an opportunity to step back and reflect on what we can and should be doing’ and “The instructor was very prepared for all questions, keep the lectures interesting and engaging.  Great presenter and speaker.’ A final report summarized the workshop and webinar contents and participant feedback.
