State Dept. Webinar on “Self-Leadership and Promotion of Leadership in Others”
On September 25, 2019, Dr. Teschner conducted a webinar for State Department Passport Customer Service Managers. Author Susan Fowler observes, “In a world crying out for effective leadership, you need to begin with the most obvious source. . . yourself.” She adds, “Not realizing your own power could be your greatest assumed constraint.” Positive recognition develops leadership in others and can be contagious — creating or reinforcing a positive workplace culture. Drew Dudley, author of This is Day One: A Practical Guide to Leadership That Matters, asks each of us to consider: “What have I done today to recognize someone else’s leadership?” This webinar was a followup to a December 2018 leadership training in New Orleans and two prior webinars: “Using Influence to Create a Positive Work Climate” (on February 13, 2019) and “Effective Delegation (on May 22, 2019).
